Sunseeker has announced the successful completion of its ownership transfer, with Cross Ocean Partners and Cheyne Capital formally becoming the yacht builder’s long-term owners and shareholders. The company has also confirmed the upcoming appointment of Scott Millar as Chief Executive Officer, marking a new phase in Sunseeker’s long-term growth strategy. 

The ownership change and leadership appointments come as Sunseeker continues to strengthen its business, product portfolio and global operations, supported by investment from its new shareholders. 

Scott Millar Appointed as Chief Executive Officer 

Scott Millar is set to become Sunseeker’s new Chief Executive Officer after initially joining the business through Teneo to support the development of its five-year growth plan. 

His involvement in shaping the strategy gave him a detailed understanding of Sunseeker’s business, products, people and future direction. With more than 27 years of experience in business transformation and operational improvement, Millar has held senior executive positions including Chief Executive Officer and Chief Transformation Officer across several international industries. 

The appointment follows a period of leadership under Interim Chief Executive Officer Steve Timms, who guided Sunseeker through an important stage of strategic development and the ownership transition. 

Reflecting on the appointment, Steve Timms, Interim Chief Executive Officer, said:  

“It was important to us not to rush the appointment of a permanent CEO. We wanted it to be someone who truly cares about this brand, who has the vision, passion and experience necessary to lead Sunseeker into its next phase of growth with true stability. Scott is the perfect choice.” 

He added that Millar had already played an important role in developing the five-year strategic plan and had gained a strong understanding of Sunseeker’s people, products and ambitions. 

Scott Millar also shared his perspective on joining the company permanently: 

“Sunseeker is one of the most admired names in the marine industry, with an extraordinary heritage, an exceptional product range and an incredibly talented team.” 

He highlighted the opportunity ahead for the business and the support provided by the new shareholders, adding that he is looking forward to investing in the brand, its people and its products as Sunseeker enters its next chapter. 

New Executive Team Supports Future Growth 

Alongside Scott Millar’s appointment, Sunseeker has strengthened its executive team with four senior appointments covering commercial strategy, business development, technology and corporate leadership. 

The expanded team combines experience from the automotive, manufacturing, technology and premium consumer sectors and will support the company’s wider growth strategy. 

Andy Gawthorpe – Chief Commercial Officer 

Andy Gawthorpe joins Sunseeker as Chief Commercial Officer, bringing extensive commercial experience from leading automotive and motorcycle brands. 

His previous positions include Global Sales Director at Aston Martin and seven years with Triumph Motorcycles, where he helped deliver strong sales growth. At Sunseeker, he will lead the company’s commercial strategy and support its international expansion. 

Ian Morgan – Chief Strategy Officer 

Ian Morgan joins as Chief Strategy Officer with almost two decades of experience in strategic transformation across the automotive and premium consumer sectors. 

He has already worked closely with the Sunseeker leadership team on the company’s superyacht strategy and wider growth plan, making his experience directly relevant to the next stage of the business. 

James Grove – Chief Information Officer 

James Grove takes on the role of Chief Information Officer and will lead Sunseeker’s digital transformation programme. 

He brings senior technology experience from organisations including Chelsea FC and Southampton FC, together with a background in major business and technology transformation projects. In 2026, he was also recognised as a HotTopics Global CIO 100 winner. 

Adrian Mardell – Non-Executive Chairman 

Adrian Mardell joins Sunseeker as Non-Executive Chairman following a distinguished career at Jaguar Land Rover. 

During his career, he played a leading role during a major period of growth for the automotive manufacturer, while also championing improvements in customer and employee experience. His experience will provide additional strategic leadership as Sunseeker develops its long-term plans. 

New Investment Supports Sunseeker’s Growth Plans 

The completion of the ownership transfer brings Cross Ocean Partners and Cheyne Capital into the business as Sunseeker’s long-term owners and shareholders. 

With their financial backing, Sunseeker has begun an enterprise-wide transformation covering commercial activities, products and operations. A major focus of the programme is new product development, with plans to further strengthen and expand the company’s yacht range. 

The investment also supports the company’s ambition to build a stronger platform for long-term growth while continuing to develop its position within the international luxury yacht market. 

A New Direction for Sunseeker 

Sunseeker is preparing to unveil its rebrand together with several new product concepts at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2026.
